Audio books of all formats are quickly gaining more popularity because of the growing lack of interest in today's music and radio talk shows. The fact is that people would rather listen to the latest Stephen King novel rather than the newest Britney Spears song or the mundane political pundits that flood the airwaves.

The New York Public Library has also joined in the popularity of creating an audio book library. Recently, it added over 700 audio books to be available for members to take advantage of in digital audio format. Audio book lovers can log onto the library's website and "check out" one of the available titles or visit the library to borrow one of the CDs. Audio books seem to be the latest trend in the world of digital media as an educational and informative alternative to television and radio.
