Another advantage to the publisher is that they do not have to worry about needing warehouse space to store the inventory of CD audio book titles, nor do they have to deal with distribution to retailers, or shipping to customers. Publishers of MP3 audio book download recordings can also sell direct to the customer from their website and cut out the expense of the "middle man" as well.

Even though all of these benefits are enjoyed by the companies that publish the MP3 audio book download volumes, the observant consumer will realize that they also benefit greatly. In almost all cases, an MP3 of a recorded book will be cheaper and at times free audio books are given to the purchaser of the printed version. In addition, these benefits for the publishers' result in there being many more titles of MP3 audio books for consumers to choose from.
